Intuitive Machines has finalized its purchase of Goonhilly Earth Station and COMSAT LLC, expanding its space communications capabilities.
Intuitive Machines (NASDAQ: LUNR) announced Monday the completed acquisition of Goonhilly Earth Station and COMSAT LLC, closing a deal the Houston-based lunar exploration company had previously disclosed to investors. The transaction marks a significant expansion of the firm's infrastructure footprint across both terrestrial and satellite communications networks.
Goonhilly Earth Station, located in Cornwall, England, is one of the world's most recognized deep-space communication facilities, with a history stretching back to the early days of satellite broadcasting. By bringing it under the Intuitive Machines umbrella alongside COMSAT LLC, the company gains dual assets that span ground-based antenna operations and satellite communications services — capabilities increasingly vital as commercial lunar and cislunar missions accelerate.
