Brookfield and La Caisse have completed their takeover of Canadian renewable energy firm Boralex, finalizing the deal under Canadian corporate law.
Brookfield, alongside institutional partners including Brookfield Renewable Partners, and La Caisse — formerly known as CDPQ — officially completed their acquisition of Montreal-based Boralex Inc. on Thursday, August 14, 2026, the companies announced jointly. The transaction was executed as a plan of arrangement under the Canada Business Corporations Act, marking the conclusion of a deal that had been previously announced.
Boralex, which trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker BLX, is a Canadian renewable energy corporation. With the arrangement now finalized, Boralex transitions from a publicly traded company into private ownership under the Brookfield-led consortium and La Caisse, two of Canada's most prominent institutional investors in the infrastructure and clean energy space.
