Ascend Learning Buys M7 Health to Link Training to Workforce Scheduling
Ascend Learning has acquired M7 Health, an AI-driven platform that helps health systems schedule and deploy clinical staff.
Ascend Learning announced Monday it has acquired M7 Health, an artificial intelligence-powered workforce scheduling platform, in a move designed to connect healthcare education and credentialing directly to clinical staffing and deployment at health systems nationwide.
M7 Health specializes in automating how hospitals and health networks schedule, staff, and deploy their clinical workforce. By folding the platform into Ascend Learning's existing suite of healthcare education and certification tools, the combined company aims to close the gap between the moment a clinician earns a credential and the moment they are placed on a shift.

The acquisition positions Ascend Learning to offer health system partners a more integrated pipeline — one that tracks a healthcare worker from initial training and licensure prep through ongoing competency verification and, now, real-time scheduling. While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the strategic logic reflects a broader industry trend: edtech and workforce-tech companies converging to offer unified talent lifecycle solutions rather than point products. For Ascend Learning, which already serves nursing, allied health, and other clinical education markets, M7 Health adds an operational layer that could strengthen its value proposition with health system procurement teams evaluating vendor consolidation.
